Play Ball!

With both the Cubs and White Sox leading their divisions, there’s really not much to complain about in Chicago baseball this summer. We’ve even spotted Cubs and Sox fans peacefully coexisting around town. The All Star break this week gives us some free time, which led us to contemplate our ideal concerts at the Friendly Confines and the Cell. There’s something to be said when the stadiums in which we have cheered and jeered are transformed into the ideal venue for our favorite artists. We’re thinking back to the Police at Wrigley last summer and the Rolling Stones 40 Licks Tour on the South Side a few years back. Who would you most love to see in the hallowed home of your favorite team?

The Police with Elvis Costello

Just recently The Police announced that they will be performing one final show as a band this summer in New York, letting fans all over the world know that this current tour is one last time to see them perform in your city and to have one final send off. Following last summer’s two buzz heavy shows at Wrigley Field, they returned this past Saturday night at Allstate Arena with Elvis Costello and the Imposters. While the Wrigley shows featured mixed reviews and opinions by the masses, did you think the band was better this time around after being back on tour for a while? Quite the double bill for XRT fans with Elvis Costello on the Chicago stop, and those who say the show should of at least enjoyed one of the performances. Tell us what you thought…

Three Upcoming Shows

We asked on our homepage which of the 3 shows coming this May you are looking forward to the most. Three options that we put out there include some XRT staple bands over the years including The Cure, The Police, and the return of Stone Temple Pilots. Tell us why you might go to one over the other this May and what you think of each….
